- The heaviness of a metal framed pack.
- The hot, dusty trail. The wonderful coolness of the little river as we hiked alongside it.
- The sinking pit felt in our stomachs when we saw the steep hill our crazy stake leader was making us carry our heavy packs up.
- That amazing feeling when we got to the top and put down our heavy burdens!
- Building a fire pit and waiting and waiting...and waiting for tin foil dinners to cook.
- Chasing cows from the campsite.
- Sleeping on bumpy ground that is plentiful with cow pies.
- Playing games around the fire and laughing and talking all night, and NOT sleeping.
- Hearing gentle rain all through the night.
- Listening to owls and seeing bats at our campsite.
- Waking up and eating instant oatmeal while knowing the rest of the girls at Camp Lomia were enjoying some delicious breakfast burritos....
Jocely, Sami, Ashlyn, MaKayla, and Taylor, I am so proud of you! Not one of you complained. You guys had great attitudes and you carried your heavy burdens with dignity and beauty. Your stake leaders are beyond impressed with you. You guys totally deserved this pampering time when you got back. Thanks to your ward leaders who made it happen!
